While the southeastern lowlands are made up of the Gulf Coastal Plain, the Mississippi Alluvial Plain (commonly called the Delta), and Crowley's Ridge. The border states are Louisiana in the south, Missouri in the north, Tennessee and Mississippi in the west, and Texas and Oklahoma along the western border. The Mississippi River runs along the western border with Mississippi and Tennessee while the Little Red River touches the southeastern border with Texas.
